Content and Technology Licenses

Content

All WNV content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

That means you can copy, share, remix, or use as the basis for your own work, any of our content for any purpose that isn’t commercial, as long as you give us credit (typically a link back to where you found it on this site) for the original, and use the same license for anything you make based on ours.

This is not a traditional copyright which restricts you from even posting our stuff anywhere else, and that’s on purpose! We encourage you to use our stuff however you want, especially if it inspires you to make something new.

Technology

Any code and technology we depend on is subject to the license included within it.

All WNV code is licensed under the DBAD license; use it as you see fit, as long as you don’t be a dick about it:

DON'T BE A DICK PUBLIC LICENSE

Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim or modified copies of this license document.
DON'T BE A DICK PUBLIC LICENSE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND MODIFICATION
  1. Do whatever you like with the original work, just don't be a dick.
Being a dick includes - but is not limited to - the following instances:
    1. Outright copyright infringement - Don't just copy the original work/works and change the name.
    2. Selling the unmodified original with no work done what-so-ever, that's REALLY being a dick.
    3. Modifying the original work to contain hidden harmful content. That would make you a PROPER dick.
  2. If you become rich through modifications, related works/services, or supporting the original work, share the love. Only a dick would make loads off this work and not buy the original work's creator(s) a pint.
  3. Code is provided with no warranty. Using somebody else's code and bitching when it goes wrong makes you a DONKEY dick. Fix the problem yourself. A non-dick would submit the fix back or submit a bug report
